Inauguration of District Level STEPS Programme 2019

Kerala has set the target of Tuberculosis (TB) elimination by the year 2020. We at Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute and Global Institute of Public Health joined hands with the Department of Health and Family Welfare and State TB Cell in the fight against TB. The State TB cell and the RNTCP, has set up a unique public private parentship (PPP) throughout Kerala involving private hospitals, called STEPS (System for TB Elimination in Private Sector). Through STEPS, private hospital will receive all help needed to provide free diagnosis, and treatment for TB patients. In return, the private hospitals need to maintain good follow-up of their TB patients to make sure they complete treatment.
