Dr. Shiraz Bava
Co-founder & COO, ALIVE
Dr. Shiraz Bava is a social entrepreneur and academic with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of technology, public-sector development, and social innovation. He is Co-founder and COO of ALIVE, a holistic retirement community in Trivandrum, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Global Institute of Public Health.
Academic Background
Dr. Bava holds a PhD in Information Technology Management from the University of Kerala. His doctoral research examined the sustainability of Kerala’s Akshaya project. He also holds an MBA, a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology, and a fellowship from Stanford University.
Professional Experience
Dr. Bava spent more than 25 years with the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT), contributing to major public-sector initiatives including the People’s Plan Campaign, Information Kerala Mission, and Akshaya. He also taught in C-DIT’s Communication Courses Division and served as a Senior Resource Person with K-Disk.
