Welcome to Global Institute of Public Health!
Lately there has been enormous demand for qualified and trained public health specialists in India and other developing countries in Asia and Africa. However, there are only a few institutes in these countries, which offer high quality specialized training in public health suited for the needs of countries like India. It was in this context that a group of Indian public health visionaries came together to develop a state-of-the art public health institute a few years ago, and thus was born the Global Institute of Public Health (GIPH). Many Indian public health experts working across the globe own up this venture and contribute ideas to it.

GIPH is envisioned as a new-age Public health teaching and research institute with a global vision. Considering many factors especially the unique position that Kerala state enjoys in the global public health map, the consensus was to base the institute in Kerala. Kerala has the best health indicators in the country, many of which are comparable with the developed nations. GIPH will also provide an opportunity for public health students across the globe to learn and understand the ‘Kerala model of health’ more closely. GIPH collaborates with prominent international organizations, public health institutions and Universities across the globe. Many global public health professionals of Indian origin with immense experience in public health practice and training are part of the institute

GIPH also supports health departments of various state governments to extend training to in-service candidates to equip them to be better public health managers and works with Indian research and teaching institutes to develop a network of public health researchers. Global Institute of Public Health is hosted and administered by the Ananthapuri Educational Trust- a not for profit organization aimed at fostering higher education in medical science and public health. The trust, which was founded a decade ago has already made major strides in the field of medical and technical education in the country and currently runs more than 20 medical and related courses

The institute is also attached to a 500-bedded tertiary care teaching hospital, Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute (AHRI) which conducts National Board of Examination accredited Diplomate programs in Cardiology, Nephrology, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine and General Medicine and various other certified masters’ programme. The attached College of Nursing is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council and is affiliated Kerala University of Health Sciences. The college offers BSc (Nursing) and specialised MSc (Nursing) programs. Ananthapuri Institute of Paramedical Sciences offers various Diploma and Technology courses like the DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology), DOTT (Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology), DCVT (Diploma in Cardio Vascular Technology), DNT (Diploma in Neuro Technology) and DDT (Diploma in Dialysis Technology)
